General Information

This Web page is a central-place for information regarding BOM projects at our store.

Our stores (Raliegh and Wilmington), as well as our online store offer a variety of fabric kits. Some of the kits fit well as BlockOfTheMonth (BOM) projects. The BOM kits often aim at becoming large sized pieces (King/Queen quilts, etc.), some have smaller-sized-piece objectives and are appropriate for wall hanging or "snuggle" quilts.

The BOM projects featured on this Web page are selected BOMs that our staff will support directly by offering in-store/studio monthly-or-so meetings led by a store staff member. The meetings are aimed at sharing information, experiences while addressing questions that arise as the participant - and, the store staff member -- forge ahead using the BOM kit. The in-store/studio meetings are for participants who purchase the meeting's particular BOM kit at our store(s) and participants in the monthly-or-so meetings must be registered prior to the in-store/studio meeting; drop-in participants will not be accepted. Some of the in-store/studio BOM meetings will be no-sewing sessions.

The BOM kit will normally include the pattern and fabric (including the binding fabric) for completing the quilt top. The BOM back-fabric will not normally be part of the kit. Fabric for the BOM back and accessories that may come in place for the participant as the BOM moves along may be offered in-store at a discount; see the particular BOM's project description for specifics. Some BOM patterns offer online videos that were created by the pattern creator.

The in-store/studio monthly-or-so meetings will supplement material offered in the BOM kit, assisting the BOM Participant as he/she moves forward to having a successful BOM completed piece!

How does a large-sized quilt fit into your 2024 plans? Perhaps, while participating with us in a BOM (BlockOfTheMonth) format? We will start in March, 2024 the Kaleidoscope BOM, resulting in the beautiful Kaleidoscope quilt that uses the updated pattern and videos from Stephanie Soebbing of Quilt Addicts Anonymous. Purchase the Kaleidoscope Kit featuring SPOTSY fabrics from Quilting Treasures at our store and be part of a monthly meeting through 2024 at our Raleigh store’s Studio Classroom where Sonja will discuss her experience with the blocks / techniques-used for the upcoming month – and, you can share with us your progress as the 96” x 96” Kaleidoscope Quilt comes about. $25 One-time registration for this monthly event (when you have purchased the BOM kit at our store) will be your ticket to a successful king-sized quilt in 2024. No sewing-machine required; this is a no-sewing event; sharing experiences is the aim The store has on display the Kaleidoscope Quilt via a fabric print from Quilting Treasures using the SPOTSY fabrics.

Merry and Bright BOM Embroidery Quilt

Description

The Merry & Bright Christmas Quilt is designed to give all levels of embroidery sewists a fun month by month project to complete for Christmas 2024. The classes for this quilt project will be monthly. All machines are welcome, but you do need a larger hoop capacity. A wall hanging is available to make if your hoops are smaller than 7” x 14”.
