Description July Do you have a paper piecing project that you need to finish? Did you put it away and maybe this is the year that you have decided to pull it out? Or perhaps you have your eye on a new project and just need help getting started. Perhaps you have signed up for the Jacqueline class in October and want to get started on that project. This is the class for you. We will have three full days of sewing and laughter. Prior paper piecing experience is required. Bring those projects and let’s see how much we can do in three days. Description The Artist in You is a one-hour digital slide show and trunk show. I describe my personal journey from that of a traditional quilter to an artist who makes both traditional quilts and art quilts. I start with a digital slideshow, which shows my work and some of the techniques I use. The focus is on ways for traditional quilters to become more creative by embracing their own “inner artist.” It is my goal to inspire and encourage quilters to try making an art quilt for several reasons: to challenge themselves, to unleash their innate creativity, to learn new techniques, to discover things about themselves through art, and to share their view of the world with others. There will be an opportunity to view quilts and ask questions. Description Dust off your Stripology Squared or XL ruler, grab a layer cake (NOT the kind from Harris Teeter) and join Amy O'Donnell for this two-session class to make the Stripology "Amalie" quilt. This is a great quilt for Stripology users of all levels. We will use our Stripology rulers to even up the raw edge of our background (sashing) fabric, subcut our ten inch squares, cut and subcut our background strips, and finally to square up our blocks. Description My kitty Huey.... I had so much fun making him into a Posh, Pet Portrait, I decided to teach a class on how to do it. Let me help you turn a photo of your favorite pet into a beguiling art quilt using easy, fused, raw edge applique, and colored pencils. These make great gifts for family members too! Description Annie’s back with her ever-popular Color Sense workshop. Every quilter thinks that they have a problem with color - when in fact, they need to know more about fabric. Learn exactly what draws the eye to interesting designs and patterns in quilts to give them life. We discuss keys to effective fabric selection in this workshop, apply hands-on design exercises, and make a quilt applying everything you learn. The first day is Building Your Color Sense, a no-sew, hands on workshop with a slide show about quilts and color standards (with industry secrets), a hands on demo where we play with fabric, and students build paste-ups from their stash. Learn to apply design rules to choose fabrics for quilts, enhancing your own color and fabric intuition. Students create a resource binder that they will use again and again. The second day, you compose an eye-popping quilt, the 1:10 Quilt, using a single block pattern and ten fat quarters! The block used for this exercise is a magical block that changes design based on where you place your fabrics. Each block is totally unique and can't be repeated! As a part of the quilt making experience, you also learn precision piecing, using one little essential notion. Understanding the points taught in this workshop will make all the difference in your future quilts and give you a new sense of color confidence. Boho Heart Sew Along Individual Sew Along Sessions, Normally held the Last Wed. of Each Month

Description The BoHo Heart Quilt Along will start in January 2024. This quilt is a fabulous scrap buster and consists of basic sized blocks. The instructions are excellent. No commitment, no kit to purchase, use your scraps, and you can sew at your own pace. There will be no instructional videos for this project. You can get your pattern at the store. We will meet on the last Wednesday of each month from 10:30-4:30 in the Bernina Studio to work on our blocks. You can get the pattern at the store, and sign ups for the last Wednesday BoHo Sew Days will be on a month- by- month basis - seating is limited - registration for the BoHo Sew Days is required. There is a $10 registration fee for each BoHo Sew Day. The BoHo Heart Quilt Along dates will be Jan 31, February 28, March 27, April 24, May 29, June 26, July 31, August 28, September 25, October 30, November 20 (one week early because of Thanksgiving) and December 18 (one week early because of Christmas). Limit of 20 people at any one BoHo Sew session. NOTE: Students need to bring their own sewing machines in good working order.
