Let's Walk! Machine Quilting with Your Walking Foot Thu, Jun 4, 2026 10:00am - 2:00pm

Description Do you have any pieced tops that need quilting? You can achieve great results with your walking foot and you will enjoy the satisfaction of finishing your projects yourself. In this technique class you will learn the basics of walking foot quilting—straight lines, wavy lines, stitch in the ditch, straight lines without marking, curved lines and spirals. We will also cover how dense stitching causes lovely shadows and highlights your quilting without focusing on our stitches. Bernina owners will learn to sew hand-look stitches using monofilament thread and I will demo how to install a Bernina walking foot. Because it is a quilting class, I will also cover thread, fabric and batting choices. Whether you want to dip your toe or dive into longarming, this boot camp is perfect for you! You will learn all about the Q-series and it' s various configurations to meet your needs. $65 fee includes lunch and goes toward your longarm purchase within 30 days. Description In this weekly technique series, Mary Ellen will provide step by step lessons to have you leave the ditch and expand into free-motion quilting. Using a whiteboard, we will practice drawing each design and then stitch ing them onto your sample sandwiches.
